Plus White Teeth Whitener

Teeth whitening has become popular for many years. People who can afford it go to the dentist and for those who are not just satisfy themselves with store bought gels and toothpaste. This morning after my dental appointment, I checked out the store for some teeth whitener just for curiosity. As a dentist, I know that they  don't have the product that we usually use in the clinic but for sure they have a lot of do it yourself brands for sale. I never tried this stuff before except for some regular flouride toothpaste that has a "whitening" label on the box that my son likes to use thinking that his teeth will be pearly white just like the commercial models in the toothpaste advertisement. As a teenager, he is so conscious of his teeth and smile which is good for him.

Living with stained teeth can be a real embarrassment. Smiling are not fun at all for fear of people's reaction toward the discolored teeth. As people became conscious of this, the tooth whitening products has become popular and more brands came out to the market. On my post How to Take Care of Your Teeth, I mentioned some of the causes of tooth discoloration and how to avoid this.

Causes of discoloration
1. Coffee, tea and other beverages can discolor your teeth. If possible lessen the intake or quit all together.
2. Be aware of the foods like berries. It can leave stain to your teeth. Don't eat to much of it and brush your teeth right away.
3.Smoking cigarettes, cigars, tobacco and pipes can stain your teeth overtime and worst of all nicotine addiction is one of the leading cause of disease, disability, and death.
4. Antibiotics like tetracycline and Minocycline can discolor your teeth. Read the warning label on prescription medications that can change tooth color.
5. Avoid frequent use of mouthwash and use only the alcohol or chloride free brand.
6. Too much fluoride ingestion can cause fluorosis, an enamel defect caused by too much fluoride intake during tooth development. The spots and stains left by fluorosis are permanent and may darken over time.

Whitening Tips for Stained teeth
1. Visit the dentist or dental hygienist for teeth bleaching procedure.
2. If you can't afford a dentist, try a do it yourself teeth whitener kit. It will take time but if you get the right brand, a positive result will be obtain.
3.Have a regular dental prophylaxis(cleaning), at least once a year.

Plus White is the home use product that I found in the store. The price is very affordable for $4.97 plus 10% tax. Here is what written on the site when I checked the product

In as little as 5 minutes you can begin to take advantage of the same process dentists use to gently but effectively lift away stains. Whitening begins to work with the first application and you'll see whiter and brighter teeth within days!

Plus White® 5 Minute Bleach Whitening Gel
  • One Step Bleaching Power Gel
  • Bleaching power starts to work in 5 minutes
  • Proven Bleaching Power Whitens & Brightens Teeth
  • See whiter teeth in days
To see is to believe so I will use the Plus White whitening gel and write a review about it next time.

    1. it depends on the calcium our parents took in while they were pregnant and how well our calcium intake was during our tooth development. And yellowish color is from the dentin under the enamel but we can prevent the stain and discoloration by avoiding or limiting the food and drinks i mentioned above plus of course regular dentist visit.

  20. Im a fan of All white, but it can leave your mouth a little sensitive. Crest strips are great when you are on the go, especially to keep in your car. i saw them on sale at dentist.net for 10% off with a promo code "toothache" ... I still think the bleach gel is best. but its your preference

  21. This blog is full of information. The results of teeth whitening vary but most people are happy with the results. You should avoid foods that stain such as tobacco for about a week after any teeth whitening treatment.
