Giving Gifts That Come From The Heart
Ready to start that holiday shopping? Can you hear the hustle and bustle of the mall? It's time to begin shopping for those who you love and cherish deeply. Buying gifts for Godparents can be hard. Many times these gifts are expected to be more heartfelt. Godparents are people that your parents trusted that if they were to not be able to care for you that they could do it. Usually they are so close they are considered family members.
When shopping you must begin to think about the type of things that they like or are interested in. These items can usually be found out through all the times that you have spent with them. What do they collect or like but can't always get?
Don't Give Into The Pressures Of The Season
Don't let the pressures and stress of the season stop you from taking your time to buy special things for those special to you. This is a time where you should focus on giving to those who all year have meant something in your life. Gifts for Godparents can be as simple as a photo book full of memories you shared to that figurine that will complete their collection. You might want to take them to dinner with a gift card or send them on a much needed vacation getaway. It’s not about how much you spend its about the thought and care you put into purchasing something that will say I love you.
Remember when you were young and you had no money and wanted to give your parents a gift? Remember the pictures you drew and the homemade paper product gifts you gave them? Do you remember the smile that your mom or dad had when you gave it to them? Gifts for Godparents is just as simple. They may not want a paper with scribbles on it, but a card and food basket may be just what they want.
It's The Thought That Counts
As you begin to visualize what will be the best gift for them you will be able to relax more. The heartfelt gifts for Godparents are the best and money can't buy the love you have for them. If all else fails give them the gift of time and take them out to purchase something for them. Although they can't unwrap it they will be able to enjoy the time with you and a little something from the store. It's the thought that counts.

I agree, It's The Thought That Counts! Yet, most kids don't appreciate this idea though, so bad...
ReplyDeletetrue. it's the thought that counts. It's hard for the young generations though because they don't understand the value of money and that they will feel unhappy when they can't get what they want. Oh well, they will learn eventually :D
ReplyDeleteMost children will find this hard to understand but those who eventually understand it end up happier since their happiness will not depend on material things alone.
ReplyDeletetomorrow is the school annual gift giving where the little one is enrolled. The pupils are ask to bring one or two gifts to share to the invited children.. all the kids is excited for this event specially that they will personal hand the gift to the children...
ReplyDeleteIt did not really matter if what gift you will give to someone as long as that comes from the heart. You are right!
ReplyDeleteTrue! It doesn't really matter what you give, expensive or not, the thoughts is what really counts. :D
ReplyDeleteI think that's what gifts are for - sincere gesture because it come from the heart and not just because of the season.
ReplyDeleteAt an early age, parents should teach their children the value of giving gifts, that way they will grow knowing that "the thought counts'. Ang mga bata kasi madaling ma-disappointment kapag hindi nila nagustuhan ang regalo sa kanila.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, it's the thought that counts! I didn't do any shopping for my Godparents this Christmas, but I'm planning to give them small tokens in New Year!
ReplyDeleteindeed very true! my father inlaw always sends us cards with some money inside whenever theres and occasion or holidays. we jsut received his xmas cards the other Its a small toke and we appreciate it since his old already he can still remember everything and us of course xx
ReplyDeleteMy godparents had been very nice to me when i was a kid (until HS i must say). They would visit me at home days after XMAS and take me for shopping - yes, let's me choose/shop whatever im dying to buy/have. So this year as I turned 24, I finally have my very first 'inaaenak' and im gonna do the same thing. Tho right now, i need to take her parents with me to choose! LOL :)
ReplyDeletekids are happy with simple things.. nothing too lavish or expensive.. they can appreciate anything as long as they could play it.. :)
ReplyDeleteI do agree! It is not about the gift or the amount of the gift you gave, but it is the fact that you took the time to buy them gifts, and that you remembered it. And that it means they are special to you. It definitely the thought that counts. I am not even stressing about what to get my family this Christmas. I am just happy they are here with me and are well and that is what matters.
ReplyDeleteIt's the thought that counts and that's true. Unfortunately, I have no idea who my godparents are and now you get me thinking... who can they be? Yayks!
ReplyDeleteI usually start buying holiday gifts at least two weeks before Christmas to avoid stress. This year, I stick to... like you've said, something they collect or like but can't always get. That's actually a useful thought.
Happy holidays!
I honestly love giving books to my friends. Its something that they be with for almost everyday once they started reading it an then keep it like a friendship. Or some shares it to their kiddos or other family members too.
ReplyDeleteIn the five languages of love, I prefer receiving gifts and words of affirmation. I guess we should also know how our loved ones want to be love and what is love for them. Because our language of love maybe different from theirs but it does not mean that we can't love each other. They say during Christmas you have to be honest and so honesty on how you want to feel appreciated will help your loved ones do better in loving you. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's the thought that counts. There are so many things in life that money can't buy. Say for example precious/quality moments with the ones you love.
ReplyDeleteIt's the thoughts that counts. But sometimes, people prefer gifts and cash than thoughts hehe. Happy holidays!
ReplyDeleteWe can share something everyday even there's no occasion but giving gifts during special events can be more special if the thought of sharing them comes from the heart.. indeed, the price never matters at all.
ReplyDeleteI honestly do not consider my godparents when shopping for gifts. I've always received gifts from them during Christmas and birthdays. Now that I'm already working, maybe it's time to give back. =)
ReplyDeleteYeah its the thought that counts, but most of the people nowadays only appreciate the face value
