Acer is planning to launch an Android tablet early next year to undercut those best-selling pricey tablets. Iconia B1 tablet market cost is only $99, the lowest model so far from Acer. The final shelf price will be determined country-by-country.
The low cost tablet target consumers will be from developing countries who cannot afford those expensive brands. The 7 inches tablet has a 1024 x 600 resolution screen and 1.2GHz dual-core processor, somewhat similar specs to Amazon.com Inc. AMZN -1.14%’s Kindle Fire and the Barnes & Noble Inc. BKS -2.16%’s Nook Color.
Aside from the Iconia B1, another personnel from Acer’s tablet products said the company is also planning to launch a low-priced version of Intel-based Windows 8 tablets.
Everyone deserves a tablet and $99 would be great price to get more people on the internet without spending a lot of money.

that's not the cheapest... deal extreme has one for less than $50... :D of course, I'm just comparing price not the brands...
ReplyDeleteI think tablets now a days are really getting affordable. THis is a good moved from Acer to released a sub $100 tablet.
ReplyDeleteAccording to the news, ANDROID TABLET PHONE will be one of the most highlighted gadgets this 2013. I bought two tablets, a gift for my two daughters. And it is very nice. Nice thing ACER will have android tablets too!
ReplyDeleteWow! A very cheap price for a tablet. It's not an android tab?
ReplyDeleteThis great news to all those who wish to have a tablet but cannot afford it because of the price. ACER brand will definitely be salable.
ReplyDeleteI think this is a good deal because Acer is a good brand at all. 99$ for an Acer tablet, not bad. =)
ReplyDeleteI am looking for a tablet that is cheap yet effective and I think this is one thing I would like for me. I'm glad Acer is making tablets too :D
ReplyDeleteWow now my heart is torn between ipad and acer tablet. But i guess the next question for me to answer is the friendliness of the tablet in user experience category.
ReplyDeleteAndroid tablet will be one of the most salable gadgets this 2013! I'm looking forward for the Acer Android tablet !
ReplyDeleteGood move Acer!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I am not so into tablets, I might purchase this Acer tablet since it's affordable with great features. Will wait for its release!
That's really affordable! Best as gifts especially this Christmas season! Happy Holidays!
ReplyDeleteHaving more options for consumers to choose from is always great. Nice product for those who are just into the basic features of a tablet. no complications.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if "everyone deserves a tablet" but it is a nice piece of tech to have. Mobile Internet usage is much easier now and tablets play a big part in that growth. For Android tablets though I'd go with Google's hardware.
ReplyDeleteThis would be a great opportunity for those who would like to have a tablet for a very affordable price.
ReplyDeletecool! we used to have an acer laptop and they're pretty good. This tablet will for sure be salable because it's affordable
ReplyDeleteOh $99 is a good price already wish I can buy it...
ReplyDeleteWow! that is the greatest deal Sis :-) I want to have one too :-) My laptop is Acer and I noticed it is running so slow :-( I have this lapt top for a while now :-( I guess it is time to get a new one :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great deal that is then. I don't own any ACER computer, but my parents back in Pinas are going to buy a desktop ACER VOC.. I wonder if they are that good, but I guess it will do it. I don't own a tablet either, but I wonder how big of a difference it is between an iPad and a tablet? I have an iPad, but don't know about the tablet.. sure looks like a neat one this ACER though.
ReplyDeleteyay! but not so fond about Acer though especially that I didn't like my Acer lappy when I use photoshop. the pictures is not as crisp as the original. i don't why but, this is something to consider though especially that it's a win 8.
