iPhone 5 Is Here! Rumours That Were Right All Along

Just this Wednesday, September 12, Apple unveiled the latest device in their line of iPhones which is the iPhone 5. The launch was held at a media event in San Francisco where Apple made a couple of demonstrations to show how the iOS operating system would turn out in the latest iOS smart phone and to introduce the new features.

However, prior to this very much awaited iPhone 5 launch, rumours from reliable sources are continuously spreading like wildfire, even up to the last day before Apple unveiled the said device. Each speculator tries to make the best rationalization to every iPhone 5 forecasts in order to satisfy people who certainly wants the most trustworthy iPhone 5 predictions that they can get while waiting for the final announcements from Apple themselves.

And to verify which rumours were right all the while, below is a list of the amazing iPhone 5 features that we were already informed about beforehand:

Bigger screen – While a lot of smart phones are already sporting screen sizes even bigger than 4 inches, iPhone has kept theirs at 3.5 inches from the very first iPhone to the iPhone 4s. For this reason, people looked forward to a bigger screen with the iPhone 5. Fortunately, Apple has finally decided to increase iPhone 5’s diagonal screen size to 4 inches. It may still be smaller compared to other leading smart phones such as the Samsung Galaxy SIII’s 4.8-inch screen, Nokia Lumia 920’s 4.5 inch screen or Motorola Droid RAZR HD’s 4.7-inch screen, but considering that iPhone 5’s 4-inch screen is a big leap from their historical 3.5-inch screen, Apple certainly deserves some form of credit.

Higher pixels – Along with the rumour that iPhone 5 will have a bigger screen, some people got worried that this will cause the quality of the display to dwindle. On the other hand, some people believed that Apple is smart enough not to let this happen by increasing the pixels to 640 x 1136, resulting to a pixel density of 326ppi. True enough, this is exactly what Apple did with iPhone 5’s retina display.

The A6 chipset – The iPhone 5 was rumoured to perform faster as compared to its predecessor. This rumour was, again, confirmed due to the integration of the A6 chipset which is almost twice as fast as the A5 version. It also does a great job of enhancing the graphics of the said iOS device.
Support for LTE Network – iPhone 5 owners in North America, Asia and Europe where they can subscribe with carriers capable of having the LTE network can take advantage of this technology in their iPhones for a more efficient internet browsing.

Faster WiFi – Still in relation to high speed internet connectivity, the iPhone 5 has an updated and faster WiFi, capable of having up to 150 mbps.

Longer battery life – People speculated that iPhone will enhance its battery if it will push through with the then rumoured bigger screen and LTE connectivity which can drain the battery life more than the iPhone 4s can. Indeed, iPhone 5’s battery life is expanded with 225 standby hours and eight hours of internet browsing through the LTE technology.

Final Words

Considering that these significant features of the iPhone 5 were proven to be accurate to the letter upon the final launch by Apple, speculators did a great job in anticipating the features of the iPhone 5 in as close to the exact features as possible. But since the iPhone 5 is already launched, we can now stop doubting rumours and behold the real iPhone 5 news as announced by Apple themselves.

  1. It's amazing that a phone that is so thin and light is packed of smart features and has bigger screen. With its specs and features, I'm sure it would sell like hotcakes.

  4. I am now contented with my Samsung S3. Most of the features from S3 which were not with the previous Iphone were included, though many said that it is thinnier than any other smart phones.

  5. I'm not really a fan of Apple phones but I want the iMac, it has been my dream for so long.

Anyway, it's good to know that iPhone 5 has an improved battery. Battery has always been the iPhone users' complain.

  6. Unfortunately... my only Apple gadget is an old version of Nano and it's not even a phone. How I wish to own one but, it doesn't fit my budget and more so... it's not in my priority list. Anyways... magsawa na lng ako sa tingin. :)

  8. One thing I don't like to buy gadgets is how fast they become obsolete, other gadgets will come out every now and then. Amazing how this kind of technology changes the world.

    1. Hi sis! I'm actually happy with the 4s. Don't know why some aren't.. I use it often (as in all the time!) in creating images for my bloggy babies.hihih...

  9. I'm not a fan, to be honest. I think there's very little it brings to the table since the iPhone 4S is such a bad-ass phone to beat in terms of reliability, features, and of course, aesthetics. I consider this a more expensive toy for those who can afford it. For the price, I'd stick to iP4S or an S3.

  10. I hate to read this, my husband already has an iPhone and thinks he needs to upgrade to the newer version. I have been trying to talk him out of it and your review is going to send him straight out the door and down to the store!

  18. I have never been a fan of iPhone. I used to be a Blackberry girl and then I switched to Android (I have a Samsung Galaxy Note so iPhone 5's four inch screen does not impress me hahaha!)

It's going to be released here in Singapore on the 21st. Knowing local Singaporeans, I'm sure they've booked online already. ;)

  37. so true, there were not much of "ooh"s and "aah"s during the launch of the 5th installment of iPhone because of the leaks that were proven were all real in the end.
