Choosing the Right Purple Bedding

Purple is a very popular color and can suit bedrooms for children as well as adults. Choosing the right shade of purple – or the right pattern – may take a bit of shopping around. Whether you are shopping for sheets for a child's bedroom, a bedding ensemble for your teenager's loft bed or a mature set for your own bedroom, purple is an appealing color that is right on trend with today's interior styles.

While you are shopping for purple colored bedding, look for styles and colors that suit the look of the bedroom, as well as the personality and preferences of the person who sleeps in that bed. For a little girl with a princess-themed bedroom, you can find delicate, feminine bedding in pastel shades of purple. Look for favorite characters. A floral pattern on purple-accented bedding may have longer-term appeal. If you are shopping for a new bedding ensemble for a little boy, you can find purple bedding ensembles with masculine themes – perhaps even his favorite cartoon characters or superheroes – as well as solid or geometric patterns that could last him well into his teens. With shades of purple, in general, you want to go for lighter shades for a more feminine look and darker shades for a more masculine look. Lavender and lilac look lovely on a girl's canopy bed, while plums and aubergines look more masculine on a boy's loft-style bed.

Purple is not restricted to children's bedrooms, of course; many manufacturers have produced some very attractive adult ensembles featuring purple colors. Following the lead of interior designers, bedding designers have started producing attractive, modern bedding in all shades of purple. Whether you choose a feminine floral, a classic quilt or a bold, modern design in a geometric, damask or Ikat pattern, you can find the perfect purple bedding to suit any bedroom.

  12. I love purple, I was wearing one when I was out yesterday and I'm wearing a purple pyjama now, lol. It's the color of royalty so as a bedding, you'd feel like a princess perhaps when you sleep on it. :)

  14. My soon to be 3 years old daughter loves purple a lot. As of now, we don't have a bedding with that color. If I'll have the chance to purchase one, maybe, my daughter will just be in bed the whole day.
