Women's Fall Fashion: Not Just for Staying Warm

During the winter, many women forgo fashion for warmth, often believing that it's impossible to marry the two together. While it is true that many times fashion equals discomfort, this winter you can say warm and safe while still looking great doing it, you just have to know how.

One of the first things that you need to do is layer your clothes. It's easy to remove anything that you don't need if you're too hot, but if you go out and you're too cold, there's not much you can do about it. The good news is that big full coats are trending this winter, which means that you can easily layer in a couple of shirts and sweaters.

Faux furs are going to be an important part of the winter season this year. What's more, faux fur will go a long way towards keeping you warm and comfortable if you live in a colder part of the country. For you women that live in areas that don't get too cold, choosing a coat with a faux fur collar will ensure that you're well within fashion trends without being too warm.

You'll also find that capes and cloaks are quite fashionable this year. The revival is thanks in part to renewed interest in fairy tales such as Little Red Riding Hood and Snow White. These stories take place in a time where clothes were more romantic and flowing. As with larger coats, capes and cloaks provide plenty of room for layering while still allowing you to feel fashionable.

If you enjoy the fairy tale look, you'll be happy to know that this fashion is in style for women's clothing as well. There is a major focus on black, but with a lot of feminine and romantic touches, such as the use of sheer fabrics, high collars, lose billowy fabric and more.

Don't worry if this sort of goth fashion doesn't appeal to you, it's not the only thing that's in this season. You'll find that retro is in, but forget the 70's and 80's and move back to the 1920's to the flapper style.

Many people are under the misconception that a flapper means wearing a dress with no sleeves, low waist line and a lot of fringe. That's not what defines the flapper style, which is why it's so great for winter. A flapper style includes the dropped waist line, but it can include long sleeves, bright colors, to the floor fabric and more.

If you're getting married this year and it's important to you that you stay in fashion, then you're going to want to look to the baroque style of clothing for your wedding. This could mean heavy embroidery, filigrees, flowers and more. Everything from your wedding heels to your dress should speak of luxury and high fashion if you choose this type of fashion for your winter wedding.

Simply because it's wintertime doesn't mean that you have to dress in dreary or bulky clothes. Look to today's fashions and you'll find that there are many great choices for women's winter fashions.

  12. Though we don't have winter in the Philippines and we can hardly wear fur coats and thick jackets because of the climate we have... some Filipinos wear this kind of outfits with a twist. They can wear them in Baguio or Tagaytay.
